In Reasonable Taste, is a collection of essays poking fun at the pompous and pretentious world of the wine snob. Each story is illustrated with a drawing in Biggs’ own inimitable style.
Columnist, author and wine writer David Biggs takes a wry look at the Good Life and the people who live it. His essays aim to “prick the bubble of pretentiousness” that so often surrounds wine and wine connoisseurs. Although Biggs is regularly invited to serve on wine judging panels, he refuses to take the subject of wine – or life – seriously. He once published a series of annual books titled ‘The South African Plonk Buyers’ Guide,’ but gave them up when people started taking him seriously. The illustrations were originally drawn on the backs of wine score sheets and unpaid bar bills.
