Linda Vargas is an international mentor for American based company, Collective Brains, a university lecturer in Cultural Diversity, published author, motivational speaker, flamenco dancer, international dance examiner, choreographer and producer, and pioneer in multicultural education and dance.
As a South African, growing up during apartheid, she became acutely aware of the complexities of identity, as well as the challenges of social cohesion in a culturally diverse society. The key message in her book: “Know who you are,” is clearly evident in her diverse career and her quest to embrace diversity.
She is an international mentor for the American-based company Collective Brains https://www.collectivebrains.com where she mentors individuals and corporate clients in cultural and social diversity. In her M Ed research thesis, http://ersc.nmmu.ac.za Linda focused on issues of diversity in the multicultural classroom. She lectured at the University of KZN and DUT in Cultural Diversity, as well as facilitated professional development for NAPTOSA https://www.nac.org.za/ to assist teachers in multicultural education.
Linda has had an extensive career as a professional dancer, choreographer, and producer. She is the founder of the Linda Vargas Flamenco Dance Company www.facebook.com/LindaVargasFlamenco and has performed as a guest artist both nationally and internationally. She has collaborated with culturally diverse musicians from all over the world, and the Linda Vargas Company celebrated its rich contribution to dance in South Africa in 2018, in their 35th Anniversary production at the Sneddon Theatre.https://www.sneddontheatre.co.za. She has directed and choreographed for productions for the Arts Councils in South Africa as well as performed in the opera productions, La Traviata, Amal, Faust, Salome, and Carmen.
Linda is a founding director of Alianza Flamenca, https://www.alianzaflamenca.com/as well as an appointed examiner for that of the S.D.S. https://www.spanishdancesociety.org/ Her dance qualifications include the L.I.S.T.D. (Imperial Society of teachers of Dance-London) Enrico Cecchetti Final Diploma (I.S.T.D.-London), and P.D.B (SDS)
She now devotes much of her time to mentoring and facilitating STAMP seminars.
